As a children we often told people our ambitions and goals but failed to achieve them as we grew up or we degraded our ambitions. Why? What was the reason behind it? The main reason behind this is that we suffer from low self esteem. Thus to build the self esteem is necessary to become what you want to be. It’s important to build self esteem so that we can attain whatever goals we set for ourselves. The main step to build self esteem, is to set small goals and achieve them and, then,jumps into your main goal. Make a list of all these small goals. Whenever you achieve a goal,cross it off your list and move onto the next one. Just make sure you break your bigger goals into smaller, more manageable goals. Eventually, you’ll see that your list is getting smaller and smaller. If you work constantly on building self esteem, you’ll see that in no time you’ll be much closer to completing your bigger goal.

Then, in five years,or even sooner,you’ll be closer to your goal. You have built your self esteem by fulfilling your dreams. That’s how you built self esteem and that’s how you become who you’ve always wanted to be. Once your self esteem is built you will probably start to see changes in everything you do and in everything you want.There are some more tips to build your self esteem;

  • The first tip is to change your behaviour. You should not worry about how you see and think of yourself only.
  • The second tip is to stop doing those stuff that proves to be failure for you but focus on those work that have great success for you.
  • The third tip is to stay away from the negative environments whether they are a work collegues or your friends.
  • The fourth tip is to adapt the changing environment since changes can pull us down if we cannot adopt to them in a quick manner.
  • The fifth tip is to face the fears. The things that have happened thoroughout our lives may hold us back from really what we want to do.
  • The sixth tip is to pay attention in what you are doing. Do not let anyone drag your life in his own way. Make the best of everything you do in you life.

Do you suffer from low self esteem? Do you constantly find yourself avoiding social situations? Do you think of yourself as ugly, stupid or worthless? If so, then you need a little self esteem tune up. Low self esteem generally comes from your negative thinking. Turning your self esteem isn’t a difficult task to do but it takes time and patience.

  • Firstly, you have to look deep inside of yourself. Often times, people have low self esteem because of something that happened to them when they were younger. Maybe they got teased in school and from then on they avoided social situations because they were afraid of being mocked or teased. Or, maybe someone told them they were a failure when they were younger and they continue this thinking to this day. If it turns out that it was someone from your past that made you feel that way, they were probably doing it because they were jealous of you. So it’s time to break out of the habit of thinking negatively so that you can turn your low self esteem around.
  • Secondly you should find out why you feel the way you do. If you think back to your childhood you discover that there are couple of situations which make you feel the way you do today. So close your eyes and place yourself in that situation again. This may cause a little discomfort or anxiety. Once you are in that situation turn to the person in your mind who caused you to have low self esteem and tell them that you’re not going to take it any more. Tell them all your accomplishments, and tell them why you feel you are worth something. You may have to repeat this exercise several times till it works.
  • The third step is to think postively. Make a list of all the negative things and turn them into positives. Repeat the positives every day until they become a part of you. Then, see your low self esteem dissolve to make way for the new, more confident you.

Self esteem refers to providing respect towards self image. It reflects one’s overall self-assessment of own value. Self esteem means understanding yourself, boosting your strengths and overcoming your weaknesses and accordingly setting your goals. Self esteem has being compared with the confidence but it is absolutely wrong to say that a person with high self essteem has a high confidence take an example, a top celebrity who exudes so much confidence when performing onstage, only to have us later find out that he or she is on the brink of depression and is actually going in and out of rehab in real life. Thus self esteem cannot be linked with the confidence but “it is the result of your love for the self”.

It is one of the most vital aspects integrally related to human development. In fact, in order to attain a normal and healthy self-development, one must have self-esteem. A lack in self esteem may result in poor interaction with different life elements and with environmental stimuli.

An individual can be categorized into two main areas of self esteem. These two categories are low self esteem and high self esteem. Another type of self esteem is when an individual falls into middle ground.

Low self esteem is when a person adopts a negative approach in her life and is always thinking poorely of himself and thus creating a poor image of other aspects in his life. Such as a person may hate his job and other things related to his job thus giving the impression that his life has no purpose at all.

High self esteem is when an individual loves life and enjoys many different aspects in his life. An individual with high self esteem has a positive image of their self with possibly a few things they would love to change that give them self doubt on an occasion.
